Mr. Melvin K Blocker II, Principal
I am extremely proud to lead Lovejoy Middle School as its new principal. We have begun to chart our course towards creating a learning culture that supports high academic success and sustained achievement for all children.
Lovejoy Middle School has adopted a new motto – “In Pursuit of Excellence.” Our focus is to transform the total instructional program by creating opportunities for all children to meet state standards. The learning environments will follow the nation’s best practices with rigorous instruction, supported by technology-based instruction, ongoing academic assessments and one-on-one academic assistance – all in an effort to help our students achieve excellence in mastering the Georgia Performance Standards.
We will continue to make safety and cleanliness a priority. We will focus on unifying instructional strategies to maximize student engagement. All teachers will receive intensive ongoing training in best instructional practices through CRISS (Creating Independent Student-Owned Strategies). Our goal is to move students to think critically at the highest level of academic engagement.
To support the mission, our theme this year is Transforming Our Way Towards Success! There will be ongoing communication with you, our stakeholders, in an effort to bridge our talents and contribute to the academic development of our students.
